Ah yes, who can ever forget the iconic Barbie doll that was released in the late 50’s? She came and conquered the toy scene way before the creator of Bratz was out of college. She was the doll that every little girl wanted and every grown up back then secretly wanted to have as well. Nowadays, not only vintage Barbie dolls are collected but vintage Barbie clothes are also well sought after by avid collectors of everything Barbie.

One of the very rare vintage Barbie clothes in the market now are the Fashion Paks (a play of the word “packs” obviously) that were first sold back in 1962. Before, complete ensembles were sold for your Barbie to wear to work, a party or a day in the garden, sipping tea. With the Fashion Paks, you can now buy a single accessory or item that you may have misplaced or an item that you want to add to your collection. This started the ability of Barbie owners to have a huge wardrobe and items just for one doll.

A very difficult ensemble of cheap vintage clothes for Barbie is the “Sleeping Pretty” line that was introduced in the market back in 1965. This ensemble included the following:

Blue Satin Pillow
White Brush
Open Toe Heels with Pompons
Sheer Nightgown
Sheer Robe

The reason why this set is quite difficult to find is because of the very delicate that was used to manufacture this outfit. So if you find one in mint condition, that is already a steal.

The robustness of Barbie’s fashion life is the reason why most people enjoy collecting vintage Barbie clothes.
